Get Out on the Water through Stand-Up Paddle Boarding

Stand up paddle boarding, also known as SUP, is a low-impact workout that takes you out of the gym and onto the water. Downtown Tampa’s Urban Kai outlet holds SUP classes with experienced instructors all year long.

If you’re looking for a new type of full-body workout, Urban Kai offers individual and monthly class pricing. These classes are great for out-of-town friends and family too. Sign up for a sunrise or sunset class right in the heart of downtown and show off all Tampa has to offer to your guests.

Already a paddle board expert? There’s no need to bother with paddle board winter storage, as you can rent a board whenever you want from Urban Kai or use your own board year-round.

When the Water’s Warm, the Manatees Will Come

During the winter months, manatees gather around the Tampa Electric center in nearby Apollo Beach. Lured by the warmer waters, this manatee hub is certainly worthy of attention.

The TECO plant opens its doors just in time for Tampa Winter Weather each year, allowing visitors to see these gentle sea cows en masse. Viewing the manatees is free of charge, and complimentary parking is provided.

A 50-foot-high observation tower and mile long nature trail complete the Manatee Viewing Center. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at one of the outdoor tables as you experience one of Tampa Bay’s most unique wildlife attractions.
